Progress!!!!

Last night I got my email all set up! Took me ages, and I ended up having to phone Vistaprint, who sorted it in about 25 seconds. Did exactly the same thing with 123-reg aswell, which was even more embarassing, as I was ADAMANT there was no 'Manage' button, and it was right in front of me!
Also put a Facebook 'Like' link on my website which was good! 4 people (including me, admittedly!) like it so far!
My domain name got changed over aswell, so if you type http://www.echoevents.co.uk/ into your search thing, my website will appear!

Website!

The website being up and running, for me, is a sign that I am DEFINITLEY going in the right direction!
I got a good deal on Vistaprint, and it isnt costing me much. I only need a simple one, so I think its great value for money!
So, at the minute, the website is http://jermaineroberts.vpweb.co.uk/default.html, but I own the domain name http://www.echoevents.co.uk/, so I just need to change the domain name. I imagine it'll take me an age to figure out, so I'm gunna get my uncle to have a go, because he's a computer genius!
I am extremely excited today!
Another couple of suppliers got back to me, and another couple want to discuss things further, so when I get a free second tomorrow I'm going to get in touch.
Everything seems to be coming together at a good rate right now, and the future is looking extremely good indeed!

Making New Contacts

Last night I literally sat at my computer all night and emailed potential suppliers.
It wasn't the most fun I've ever had to be fair, and once again I was up til an ungodly hour doing so!
But this morning it paid off, and I have loads of suppliers willing to work with me and help me out!
One lady who was especially helpful was Carol at Exact Image, who spoke to me for ages, giving me advice and pointers, and she seemed really keen on working with me which was an amazing feeling!
I also bought some business cards and a web space from Vistaprint, which were dirt cheap, and because I don't need a compicated website is perfect.
I also found that Vistaprint have a great 'Free' section, where stuff is literally free!
I got a rubber stamp with my busines name and web address on, and a pen with the same!
Its great, and I'm so excited. I feel like I'm making loads of progress everyday, and it's so rewarding knowing that I'm single handedly making my future better for myself.
Last night I also sat and worked out how much money I'll need to get Echo Events to the standard I'd like. I haven't had the nerve to add it all together yet!

Making Use

So I had a look through all my leaflets, and realised I had about 4 duplicates of each! Sorted through them all though, and decided to keep them all, so that the spare can be given to the clients to look at. A lot will probably be out of date by then in terms of venue prices and all that, but at least they can see what to expect from that venue etc.
I always find filing and sorting very therapeutic, and last night was no different. I ended up doing it til about 2am this morning, even though I had to be up at 6 for the day job.
Its things like that that make me realise this is what I want to do forever. Even just sorting through leaflets and looking at potenial suppliers websites gets me all excited about whats to come when I'm making my full time living out of doing this!

The Wedding Fayre

Well, me and my little cousin went and at first I thought there wasn't one, and that I'd got the wrong day, because there were no signs or anything!
But we went in anyway, and there we found the tiniest little signs showing us where to go.
We expected it to be like Clothes Show Live, or London Fashion Week, with all the trade stands and that, but it was literally too small rooms with a few traders!
I wore a fake engagment ring (£2.50 from Claires for a fancy dress last year!) to see if I could get any freebies! I didn't....
I did get harassed though, everyone asking when the Big Day was! I went along with it though rather than look ridiculous!
Got some really useful information though, and I think there will be a few suppliers I'd like to work with, like Amayesing Cakes. They all looked beautiful and I was tempted to have a little taster, but decided against it cause of the never ending diet!
Overall it was a success, and not at all daunting!

Echo Events!

Well! Tomorrow me and my lovely cousin are going to Castleford to a Wedding Trade fair!
Very excited at the prospect of seeing what products are available, and also at gaining some inspiration as to what can be used at some of the weddings I'll be planning.
I can't wait to do another wedding. It'll be completely nerve wracking, but when it's all over, I can't wait for that feeling when you're really proud of what you've acheived, especially when its creating something personal for someone, on possibly the most important day of their lives!
Theres another Wedding Fair in Ilkley tomorrow aswell, but the one in Castleford seems more appropriate for what I want.
Can't wait!
